Note: The FPNTC recently developed a training guide and video that will replace this eLearning course in February 2020. In February 2020, the eLearning course will be removed and will no longer be accessible.

This eLearning course provides prevention and intervention strategies to address adolescent and young adult sexual coercion and abuse. Participants will learn to create a safe environment that facilitates disclosure of coercion and abuse, frame questions to assess for both sexual assault/abuse and more subtle forms of coercion, and respond to disclosures in ways that support and respect adolescent clients and comply with reporting requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify elements in the interview approach to encourage disclosure
  • Recognize patterns that may indicate coercion or abuse
  • Explain prevention approaches to encourage healthy relationships

Time: 1 hour, 30 minutes

Continuing Education: 1.5 contact hours

There is no fee for a Continuing Education (CNE) certificate upon successful completion of this activity.
